Conversions and extensions
If you love where you live, why move? Our aim is to transform your home with thoughtful design that suits your lifestyle and budget. Projects range from simply removing walls, rezoning and moving stairs through to single and double extensions, loft conversions and granny annexes. We listen and fully understand your vision, so we can create a design that is specific to you.
Residential new build design
We specialise in new build house design for any lifestyle or life stage as well as large scale new build developments. With over 30 years’ experience, we design homes you love to live in. Our team works with individuals, builders and property developers, providing a comprehensive service from concept through to building approvals.
With a wide range of commercial clients, our work covers factories, industrial and retail units, and community projects such as village halls, schools and church extensions. We are responsive to client briefs and respectful of the historical, social and environmental development of the site.
We know who to speak to and what legalities are involved to get your project off the ground. You can be assured that we continually monitor the district plans and keep up to date with the latest changes in local planning policy, so our team are best placed to advise you on what is required. We submit planning and building regulation applications on your behalf.

The steps we take to make your project a success
We provide a free phone or video consultation (up to 1 hour) to find out how we can help! Tell us everything! What is your vision? What is your style? What is your budget?
Project brief and feasibility
Our feasibility study fee of £95 +vat covers an on-site socially distanced visit to further discuss your ideas, review the environment and setting, and provide a sketch drawing.
We develop the sketch into a concept design taking into consideration functional practicalities, required works, potential planning requirements and provide cost estimates. From this, detailed working drawings are prepared.
Some projects don’t need planning permission, but if you do, our full working drawings for planning and building control approval will be submitted to the applicable local authority department on your behalf.
The planning process usually takes around eight weeks and building control approval about four weeks. These two processes can run together, so you should receive full approval to start work within eight weeks from submitting the drawings.
Time to build!
With all planning stages complete, the working drawings can be sent to builders to get detailed quotes. We have a number of excellent builders that we can recommend for your project if required.

Our needs for a lounge extension were recorded, questioned to make sure we understood one another, and then executed in a professional and timely manner. We only had one regret, that we hadn't got the work done years sooner.

Very professional company to work with, nothing is too much to ask and designs drawn up were exactly to requirement. A very smooth process from beginning to end, which meant we were able to have our extension built within budget and to timescale.

I contacted Kingswood to draw up plans for a kitchen, dining room and bathroom extension. Kevin always gets back to me pretty fast and has been very helpful along the way with any changes. He's been great.
